Deposit Insurance

Credit unions are insured by the NCUSIF (National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund) just as banks are by the FDIC.

NCUSIF is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government and insures the accounts of millions of account holders in all federal credit unions. All members of federally insured credit unions have $250,000.00 in coverage for their single ownership accounts. Individuals with account balances totaling $250,000.00 or less at the same insured credit union are fully insured.
